17: BANI ISRAIL - CHILDREN OF ISRAEL

111 VERSES MAKKAN REVELATION

Begins and ends with references to the Israelites. V.1 relates to the Prophet PBUH vision in which he was carried by night upon a heavenly steed to the temple of Jerusalem where he was caught up through the seven heavens to the presence of Allah SWT

Whilst this Surah was revealed under a time of great distress and persecution this was a time when Allah SWT had put the Prophet’s love in the hearts of the people of Madina who accepted Islam and invited prophet to come to Madina.

1: Prophet Muhammed PBUH was carried from Makkah to Jerusalem by night

4: The children of Israel will work corruption in the Earth twice and will become great tyrants

5: The first of the two ravaged their country

7: When the second judgement came they were ravaged and entered the temple and laid to waste all that they conquered

8: Repeat the crime and the punishment will be repeated

13: A book will be brought forth on the day of resurrection which man will find wide open

17: How many generations have been destroyed since Noah PBUH

23: Show kindness to parents. Say not fie unto them unto them and speak gracious words unto them

24: Ask Allah SWT to have mercy on them both as they did care for you when you was little

31: Slay not your children fearing poverty it is a great sin. Allah SWT will provide for you

32: Do not commit adultery it is an abomination and an evil way

34: Do not eat orphans wealth

35: Fill the measure and weigh with right balance

55: Some Prophets were preferred above others. David PBUH was given the psalms

56: Saints and angels have no power to rid you of misfortune nor change it

60: Man is warned of the accused tree Zakkum

61: Iblis did not prostrate before Adam PBUH saying he was created of clay

61: Iblis asked for grace until resurrection. I will seize his seed save but a few Iblis said

62: Iblis has no power over faithful bondmen, Allah SWT is their guardian

65: Iblis has no power over faithful bondmen, Allah SWT is their guardian

67: When harm touches you upon the sea all unto who you cry no one hears but Allah SWT. When you are brought safe to land ye turn away. Man was ever thankless

69: Feel you secure you will not be returned to that plight a second time

78: Establish worship at the going down of the sun unitl night, the recital of the Quran at dawn is ever witnessed

85-86-87: They ask thee of the spirit. Say the spirit is by command of my Lord. The idolators asked three questions this is the third and the other two are answered in the next, Surah Kahf

88-93:The idolators said they would not believe. They wanted a book to come down they could read

101: Moses PBUH was given 9 tokens. Ask the children of Israel how he came unto them

106: The Quran has been divided so it may be recited to mankind at intervals and it has been revealed by successive revelation

110: Cry unto Allah SWT or the beneficent they are the same.
