8 VERSES MAKKAN REVELATION

Relief from anxiety. Probably revealed the same time as surah Ad Duha and at a time when the Prophet pbuh was derided and shunned after having been respected and courted must have struck the disbelievers as ridiculous. It refers to the inward assurance which the prophet pbuh had received by revelation and speaks of future events as accomplishe. V.4 ‘exalted thy fame’ must have seemed absurd at the time of humiliation and persecution but today from every mosque in the world the prophet pbuh name is cried as the messenger of Allah SWT 5 times a day and every muslim prays for blessings on him when his name is mentioned

The prophet pbuh is favoured with 3 blessings:

• The opening of the chest
• Removing the heavy burden that was weighing down your back before your call
• Exalting your reputation the like of which has never been granted to any man before

When you are free from your occupations you should devote yourself to the labour and toil of worship and turn all your attention exclusively to your Lord. The same instruction has been given to the Prophet Muhammed pbuh in much greater detail in surah Muzzammil
