3: SURAH ALI IMRAN - FAMILY OF IMRAN

200 VERSES MADINAH REVELATION

Father of Musa pbuh and Miriam pbuh sister of Musa pbuh

The Believers had met with all sorts of trials and hardships about which they had been forewarned in Al-Baqarah. Though they had come out victorious in the Battle of Badr, they were not out of danger yet. Their victory had aroused the enmity of all those powers in Arabia which were opposed to the Islamic Movement.

Jews were bitter in opposition. Makkans came against Al-Medinah with 3000 men to avenge defeat at Badr. The prophet pbuh went out to meet them at Mount Uhud with 1000 men of which one third deserted him under Adbullah Ibn Ubeyy the hypocrite leader.

Due to 50 archers placed to guard a certain place ran from their place leaving a way open for the Makkan calvalry.

Mutilation was forbidden to the Muslims.

The next day the Prophet pbuh went out again and a friendly nomad met the muslims and Qureysh and told Abu Sufyan the Prophet pbuh was seeking vengeance with an overwhelming force.

Hasbun Allahu wa ni’mal Wakeel (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best caretaker of affairs) these words saved Ibrahim pbuh from the fire and tuned the tide for the muslims in Uhud. Aisha (radia Allahu anha) spoke these words when being slandered.

This is one of those powerful Duas that we need to say when we are wronged, when we are tested, when it appears that all roads have been cut off, or when we face a large enemy. This is how a believer ought to react when the going gets tough. When the world seems to be collapsing in, when people seem to have turned away, when the world seems absolutely cruel and pushes us to our knees that is when this prayer needs to come out.

This prayer is the essence of trusting in Allah. This prayer tells our heart, tells the shaytan, and tells the world that whatever might happen, Allah is enough for us. He was enough for us before, and is enough for us today, and is enough for us forever
