6: SURAH AL ANAM - THE CATTLE
165 VERSES MAKKAN REVELATION
Cattle are mentioned in connection with superstitious practises condoned by Al Islam. The Prophet PBUH after 13 years of effort saw himself obliged to flee from Makkah and seek help from strangers.
This surah is about the relationship of Allah with His messengers. The main theme in these verses is the rejection of shirk and guidance towards tauheed, the revelation, and resurrection. The surah also reports the story of the Prophet Ibrahim PBUH who calls on people to stop worshiping celestial bodies and turn towards Allah
Ibn Abbas said, Surat Al- Anam was revealed in Makkah at night accompanied by 70 thousand angels
2: A term is fixed with Allah SWT
32: The life of the world is a sport and pastime
38: There is not an animal in the Earth nor a flying creature flying on two wings but they are peoples like unto you. Unto their Lord they will be gathered
60: He it is who gathers you at night then he raises you again to life therein that the term appointed for you can be accomplished
91: The Jews put the book of Musa PBUH on parchments which they show but they hide much of it
97: The stars are a guide for you amid the darkness of the land and sea
146: The Jews were forbidden every animal with claws for their rebellion. Of the oxen and sheep the fat was forbidden save on their backs or the entrails or that mixed with bone
151: A sacred duty to you is that you ascribe nothing as partner unto Allah SWT. You do good to parents and you slay not your children because of penury (poverty). Do not draw near to lewd things. Do not slay life which Allah SWT has made sacred save for justice.
160: Whoso brings a good deed will receive ten fold the like and who does bring an ill deed will be rewarded the like.
“Don’t feel ashamed when giving little for charity; that is because there is always goodness in giving no matter how little.” Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA)
