Omar ibn ul khattab pbuh who later became a Caliph was a bitter opponent of Al Islam in early days. He set out one day sword on hand to kill the prophet pbuh and a friend of his reminded him that if he did this he would reckon with the vengeance of a powerful clan. Tribal pride survived religious difference. Omar pbuh was told to go to his own house and keep them straight. His brother in law Said ib zeyd pbuh and his sister Fatimah pbuh had become muslims and followers of Prophet Muhammed pbuh.
Omar pbuh went to their home enraged. In the house was Khabbab ibn Arat pbuh whonhad a leaf on which was written Ta Ha which he was reading loudly to them. He swore by his Gods he would return it. Omar was asked to do abolition by his sister then she gave him the leaf. When he read Ta Ha he said ‘How excellent are these words’ and praised it highly.
