Difference between poets and prophets is pointed out. Poets say what they do not mean and prophets always practise what they preach

The story of a number of the prophets is given here to console the believers at a time of persecution with the assurance that it is no new thing for a messenger of Allah SWT to be persecuted but that the persecutors always suffer in the end. All the messengers of Allah SWT came with the same message. The reason for sending the Quran is given (Believe in the oneness of God surrender to the will of Islam. The Quran is Allah SWT final revelation to humankind)

189: They denied him so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom
