 7: SURAH AL ARAF - THE HEIGHTS

206 VERSES MAKKAN REVELATION

This surah is about the opponents of Allahs SWT will and purpose from satan onward. It tells us how Satan made our ancestors Adam and Eve to leave heaven and all of the three came down to Earth from which point Satan became the number one enemy for humanity. The story of Prohet Noah PBUH and Prophet Hud PBUH are mentioned in this surah. An invitation is given to the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) to become Muslims. A warning is given to the unbelievers about the consequences of their denial through quoting the example of punishments which were imposed upon people for their wrong attitude towards their Messengers. The Jews are warned about the consequences of their hypocritical conduct towards the Prophets. There is dialogue between the residents of paradise, the inmates of hell and the people of A'raf (a place between the Paradise and hell). The fact that Allah created all of mankind from a single soul.

8: Those whose scales are heavy are the successful#

11: Iblis did not bow down before Adam PBUH

12: Iblis said it is created of fire while Adam PBUH is created of mud

13: Iblis was sent down degraded

14: Iblis asked to be reprieved until resurrection

15: Allah SWT said Iblis is reprieved for a while

16: Iblis said it will lurk in ambush for them on thy right path

18: Allah SWT said hell will be filled with all that follow Iblis

19: Adam and Eve peace be upon them were told to dwell in the garden and eat what they want save from the tree

20: Satan whispered, Allah SWT forbade the tree only that they become angels or immortal

22: Adam and Eve peace be upon them tasted of the tree and their shame was made manifest to them. Allah SWT said they were forbidden that tree and that satan is an open enemy

24: Adam PBUH and his wife PBUH were sent down to Earth

26: Raiment conceals you’re your shame. Raiment of restraint from evil is the best

40: Those who deny the revelations and scorn them will only enter the garden when a camel goes through the needles eye

24-64: Talks of the disbeliever and believers how the disbelievers ask from those on heights to give them water or something from what the believers were given but were told it was forbidden them. Those who took religion for a pass time. The folk Noah PBUH were drowned for their disbelief.

65-74: Tribes of Aad Hud PBUH and tribes of Thamud Salih PBUH. Roots were cut for tribe of Aad

77: Tribe of Thamud PBUH hamstrung the she camel

78: The earthquake seized them

80: Lot PBUH said come with lust unot men

83: His wife was left behind

84: A rain was rained upon them

85: Midian were sent Shueyb PBUH

87: Have patience Allah SWT will judge between believers and disbelievers

91: Earthquake seized them

103: After Messengers we sent Musa PBUH with tokens to Pharoah

107: Musa PBUH flung down his staff and it was a serpent manifest

108: He drew forth his hand and it was white

112-118: Wizards were caught and their lying was brought to show. Musa PBUH threw down his staff and it swallowed their lying show

126: The wizards said ‘make us die as men who have surrended unto thee’

133: Floods,locusts, vermin, frogs and blood were sent as signs

134-139: They asked Musa PBUH to pray that the terror is removed and they would let the children of Israel go with Musa PBUH. When they broke their covenant they were drowned in the sea.

142: Musa PBUH was appointed 40 nights of solitude

148: The folk of Musa PBUH after he left them chose a calf for worship

150: Musa PBUH chose 70 men

157: Prophet Muhammed PBUH has a light sent down with him

160: Musa PBUH community were divided into 12 tribes, nations. 12 springs of water gushed forth

163: The fish did not come when the Sabbath was not kept

166: When they took pride in what was forbidden they were made into apes despised

175-176: Those who are astray are as dogs
