88 VERSES MAKKAN REVELATION

This surah gives an account of Musa pbuh from his birth early life and struggles being brought up in the household of pharoah to when he tried to help a member of his clan and killed another man upon which he fleed Egypt and his ultimate triumph returning a prophet. The surah was revealed when Muhammed pbuh case seemed desperate.

7: The mother of Musa pbuh was inspired saying suckle him and when you fear for him cast him into the river and do not fear nor grieve. He will be brought back to thee and will be made a messenger pbuh

8: The family of pharoah took him up

9: The wife of pharoah said Musa pbuh will be a consolation for her kill him not

12: Musa pbuh sister pbuh said to Pharoah she would show them a household who will rear Musa pbuh

13: Musa pbuh was restored to his mother. The promise of Allah SWT is true

14: When Musa pbuh reached full strength and was ripe he was given wisdom and knowledge

15: Musa pbuh entered the city at a time of carelessness and saw two men fighting one of his own caste the other his enemies. The one from his caste asked for help and Musa pbuh struck him with his fist and killed him

16: Musa pbuh asked Allah SWT for forgiveness and was forgiven

17: Musa pbuh promised never to be a supporter of the guilty again

21: Musa pbuh was told that the chiefs had taken counsel to slay him and he was advised to escape

23: Musa pbuh came unto the water of Midian where he found a tribe of men watering. There were two women keeping their flocks back. They told Musa pbuh they couldn’t give their flocks to drink till the shephards return from the water and their father is a very old man

24: He watered her flock for them

25: One of the women came to Musa pbuh and said that their father wanted to reward him for watering the flock and Musa pbuh told him his story and was told to fear not. He had escaped from wrongdoing people

26: One of the women asked their father to hire Musa pbuh

27: The father said he would marry one of his daughters on condition Musa pbuh hire himself to him for 8 years and if he complete 10 years it will be of hos own accord

29: Musa pbuh fulfilled the term and was travelling with his housefolk and saw a fire in the distance and told his housefolk peradventure he will bring them tidings or a brand from the fire to keep warm

30: Musa pbuh was called from the right side in the blessed field ‘Lo I am Allah SWT’ Lord of the worlds

31: Musa pbuh was asked to throw down his staff and it was a demon and

32: Musa pbuh put his hand in his bosom of his robe and it will come forth white. These are two proofs from Allah SWT unto pharoah and his chiefs

34-35: Musa pbuh asked that his brother Aaron pbuh be sent with him as a helper. They were told Ye twain and those who follow you will be the winners

36: When Musa pbuh and Aaron pbuh came unto the people they denied him

38: Pharoah asked his chiefs to kindle a fire for him and to set up a lofty tower in order that he may survey the God of Musa pbuh

40: He and his hosts were seized in the sea

46: Muhammed pbuh was not present when the revelations were expounded to Musa pbuh but the knowledge is a mercy from the Lord that Muhammed pbuh may warn a folk unto whom no warner came before thee

48: The disbelievers call the scripture of Musa pbuh and the Quran 2 magics that support each other

49: When Muhammed pbuh says to the disbelievers then bring a scripture from the presence of Allah SWT that gives clearer guidance than these 2 that he may follow it

50: They answer not

59: No township was destroyed by Allah SWT until he had raised up in their town a messenger reciting unto them our revelations. No township was destroyed unless the folk were evil doers

76: Korah was of Musa pbuh folk but he oppressed them, he was given so much treasure

78: Korah said he was given the treasure on account of knowledge he possessed

81: The Earth swallowed him and his dwelling place

84: Whoso brings a good deed he will have better than the same and who brings an ill deed will be requited what they did

88: Unto Allah SWT you will be brought back
