12 VERSES MADINAH REVELATION

V 1-4 has 3 traditions.

1 -  The prophet was fond of honey, one of his wives persuaded the prophet pbuh to stay with her longer than was customary. The other wives said the prophet pbuh had eaten from a very rank smelling tree. Maghafir. They said the bees had fed on maghafir. The prophet pbuh said he would not eat honey again

2 – (Possibly not authentic) The prophet pbuh vowed to have no more to do with Marya his wife when Hafsah found the prophet pbuh with her on a day custom had assigned to Ayesha peace and blessings be upon her. Marya became the mother of the prophet pbuh only son Ibrahim pbuh

3 – The Quran gave women rights which they never had before. Omar pbuh rebuked his wife for replying to him in a tone he considered disrespectful. She assured him it was the tone his daughter Hafsah, Ayesha and others of the prophet pbuh wives answered the prophet pbuh. Omar pbuh when he went to protest with Hafsah and another of the prophet pbuh wife was told to mind his own business

The prophet pbuh separated from his wives for a time and Omar pbuh told the prophet pbuh of his own vain effort to which the prophet pbuh laughed.

The Quran rebukes the propjet pbuh for yielding to his wives desires to the extent of undertaking to forego a thing Allah SWT had made lawful for him

(2) was a wrong to marya

Christianity religious ideal is celibacy, monogomy is a concession

Muslims monogomy is the ideal and polygamy the concession

The Quran helped the prophet pbuhto retrieve his mistakes when he made them

Al Islam did not institute polygamy it restricted a existing institution by limiting the number of legal wives a man can have by giving women personality and legal rights which had to be respected and making every man legally responsible for his conduct towards every woman.

8: Their light will run before themand on their right hands (believers)

10: Noah pbuh and Lot pbuh wives betrayed them so they entered the fire along with those who enter

11: Pharoah wife asked to be delivered from pharoah and his work

12: Mariyam peace be upon her was chaste and obedient

This surah deals with questions regarding the Prophet pbuh wives

Nobody has the power to make unlawful what Allah SWT has made lawful

The followers of the Prophet pbuh would have followed
