9: SURAH TAUBAH - REPENTENCE

129 VERSES MADINAH REVELATION

The only surah without Bismiilahir Rahmanir Rahim on account of the stern commandments against idolators, it shows the hatred and renouncement of the believers towards the polytheists because time and again they had broken their promises and pledges. There is no obligation to idolators. The surah contains mention of a greater war to come and instructions with regard to it.

38-99: Refer to the Tabuk campaign

1: Freedom from obligation towards the idolators with whom there was a treaty.

25: Huneyn victory

26: Hosts not visible were sent down, those who disbelieved were punished

36: Four months are sacred

40: The Prophet PBUH and Abu Bakr PBUH on their flight to Al Madinah from Makkah. They were supported with hosts they could not see.

71-91: Focuses on the disbelievers and hypocrites who didn’t go out to war who sat at home

97: The wandering arabs are hard in disbelief

99: Some of the wandering arabs Allah SWT is forgiving merciful because of their belief

100: Muhajirin fugitives from Makkah to Al Madinah

Ansar muslims who welcomed the fugitives from Makkah and helped the Prophet PBUH with their wealth and defended him with their lives

114: The prayer of Abaraham PBUH for forgiveness of this father was because of a promise he had promised him. When it became clear his father was an enemy to Allah SWT Abraham PBUH disowned him.
