83 VERSES MAKKAN REVELATION

The focus is on establishing the Quran as a divine source, it warns about the fate of those who mock Allah SWT revelations and are stubborn. This surah tells of the punishment that plagued past generations and non believers as a warning to present and future generations. Muhammed pbuh has been name 7 times in the Quran Muhammed Ahmad Ta Ha Ya’sin Al Muzzammil Al Muddathir Abd Allah SWT

Ya’sin presents the message of the Quran. The surah asserts that Muhammed pbuh

Was not a poet rather he was the greatest and last messenger of Allah SWT (the seal of the prophets). There are three main themes of Ya’sin. The oneness of Allah SWT Tawhid, Rasila that Muhammed pbuh is a messenger sent by Allah SWT to guide his creations through divine revelation. The reality of Akhirah the last Judgement.

The surah repeatedly warns of the consequences of not believing in the legitimacy or the revelation of Muhammed pbuh. Believers are encourage to remain steadfast and resist the mockery, oppression and ridicule they receive from polytheists and non believers.

1-12: The first passage 1-12 focus primarily with promoting the Quran as guidance and establishing that it is Allah SWT choice who will be believe and who will not

14: Messengers 2 and 3 were sent to warn non-believers but were rejected. They said they were messengers but were accused of being ordinary men by the non-believers. A man from among these people beseeched them to believe the messengers. Then a man came running and said ‘O my people believe in the messengers’ He was set upon by the people and upon his death he entered paradise and lamented the fate of the disbelievers. He was told ‘Enter the garden’ he said ‘If only my people knew how my Lord has forgiven me and set me among the highly honored’

This surah warns the non-believers of the consequence of their denial. The signs of Allah SWT supremacy over nature are mentioned: Revived land, day and night, the arc and the flood, the sudden blast that arrives on the day of Judgement On the last day the non-believers will be held accountable for their actions and will be punished accordingly

Allah SWT warned the non-believers of satan and yet satan led them astray. The non-believers were deaf and so now will suffer the consequences of their ill judgement (63)

36-69: The Prophet pbuh has not been taught poetry nor could he ever be a poet. Muhammed pbuh is a legitimate prophet pbuh

82-83: Re affirm Allah SWT sovereignty and power. When Allah SWT wills something to be his way is to say ‘Be!’ and it is. The closing passage: It is to him you will be brought back. It is to Allah SWT the one creator who holds everything in his hands that everything returns. The closing passage is absolute and powerful and carries an essential message of the Quran

12: All things are kept in a clear register

23: Other gods cannot avail you if Allah SWT should wish you harm

47: Spend of that Allah SWT has provided you

53: It is one shout and all will be brought together before us

68: Those brought to old age are reversed in creation making them weak after strength
